There were a couple of years when he was hilarious, despite the watermelon shtick. But this guy, I really have never seen him be funny. Even the promos, which you would expect to have his best stuff, don't even twitch the humor center of my brain. I mean, we can all recognize a bad joke when we hear it, at least recognize that it's supposed to be humor even when it's not. With Dane, I don't even get that twitch. I get no recognition that he's trying to be funny.

Then again, I don't watch him, so maybe somewhere in his many, many hours of comedy routine, something would make me laugh. Heck, even Reagan made me laugh, and I hated him. I don't hate Cook, I just don't see anything funny about him.

More power to him, though. It's a tough industry, and I don't begrudge anyone other than Republican politicians success. :)

I've literally never seen his comedy, although I did know who he was.

I'll preface by saying I'm an easy sell for standup. I'll laugh at a lot of stuff that isn't that funny. I'm predisposed to like it, is what I'm saying. And I just watched almost 5 minutes of Dane Cook and I didn't even crack a smile, much less laugh. That is a comedy-free zone, boy. :scared:
