Situation: At a cafe with four or five friends. Girl sitting to my left. We've been friends for about five months. She's eating a piece of cake. She offers me a bite, right off her own fork. No offer to anyone else, all of whom are equally good or greater friends.

Another hint is if she plays with or touches her hair a lot when she's talking to you. There are always exceptions of course (people who touch their hair when they talk to everyone, for example, like a habit) but by and large, it's an unconscious signal that she's concerned with how she looks and wants to impress you. That's a good sign of "interest."

There isn't enough information there to answer the question. What is she like when she's around you? Does she find excuses to touch you, particularly your arm? Play with her hair? Hang on your every word? Laugh at lame jokes? Find excuses to spend time with you? If you recommend a CD/book/movie does she rush right out to buy/read/watch it and make a point to discuss it with you ASAP?
