1. Evita is shedding enough for 3 cats
:scared:

Of course she's a medium hair cat

3. Cute kitty!
We have three perpetual shedders. I just invested in the Furminator, and it seems to be doing some good--plus at least two of our cats REQUEST that we brush them now (that's new). The only drawback is that while it gets plenty of hair off the cats, there always seems to be more. And whatever comes off them (great heaping mounds) gets stuck on us--our shirts, our pants...the couch...the chair...the floor...the rug...

I'm trying to figure out how I can get the vacuum cleaner closer to them while we brush 'em. Not likely, but I like to hope.

5. I'm with you on the Furminator
I furminate my cat outside, though. I figure the mounds of cat hair are feathering some bird's nest somewhere.

9. I wish I could do the same
But alas, these guys are indoor kitties, and they'd surely freak out and run if they were outside and a passing car was too loud. (And they have claws, so they'd beat me paws down in a wrestling match.) My brother and SIL used to brush their golden retrievers outside and fill an entire contractor bag with hair--the stuff that didn't go to the birds, that is.

14. Our part-Persian has really fine hair
But it gets everywhere--and she has the WORST hairballs. I want to try the Furminator on her, but she's the most averse to it, probably because she doesn't have an ounce of fat, the little neurotic runt.

4. I have a similar cat
very dense undercoat causes shedding/matting problems for Mary.

She loves being brushed though.

8. I had a calico that would let me vacuum her.
Really. Then I tried it on my own head, and damn it feels good! Cool and swishy.

10. I used to have a cat who shed so much
I could have knitted another entire cat with that loose fur. I don't know how they can shed so much and still have any fur left -- they ought to be stark bald.
