Ever get a really great idea right as your about to go to sleep?
Then you can't get to sleep because you can't stop thinking of the idea? x(

Throw George Carlin's death on top of that and I really wish I could get to sleep right now.

1. Depends on the idea.
I'm into art, and sometimes thinking about a certain idea for a pic relaxes me to the point where it helps me get to sleep.

Other ideas too dark to repeat keep me up at night. x(

4. Art is what usually keeps me up.
As is the case right now. I have an idea for a project, so my mind is focused on that and doesn't want to sleep.

2. How to get to sleep. First of all, you might consider that the light
from the damned computer screen is making you think that it's daytime!!!!

You need some darkness -- or a rather tight fitting eyeshade.

Turn off computer. Turn off lights. Plug in mp3 player with music to put you asleep.

Sound source machine helps too: sound of the seashore takes over.

Now, I'm going to take my own advice.

It's 1:30 AM and I should have been in bed two hours ago.

Good night and good luck...

3. I know how to deal with sleep issues, I've been having them for years.
But sometimes I just get ideas that get my mind moving a mile a minute. No amount of darkness or music or anything can make me stop thinking about the idea.

5. When that happens to me,
I just go down to the studio and work until I've accomplished enough that I feel I can sleep. :hi:

6. I usually do the same, but this is something I won't be able to begin until I get my new computer.

It's an animation project and I just don't think my computer can handle it right now, haha, so it'll have to wait a couple of weeks. Though I have fleshed out the idea in my notebook a bit.

7. Oh, well . . .
waiting for materials (whether it's a new computer or another essential) sucks. I recently got all of the stuff to experiment with encaustic except for the pharmaceutical-grade beeswax, and it took _forever_ for it to get here. x(

P.S. :yourock:

8. Waiting does indeed suck.
I'm waiting on the money with which to order it now, which I should have hopefully this week. Then I have to order the parts. Grr. I'm pretty excited about the idea though, it should be neat. I need to buy a microphone for it too though. Gah.

You should post the results of your encaustic experiments when they are done!

9. My dear primate1!
I've had that happen too...

Luckily, mine take the form of words, or fragments of poems...

So, I get up, and write them down...

Wish yours were so easily disposed of!

12. Like I said above, at least I was able to put the idea down on paper and organize my plans for it...
At least a little, haha.

Now I just need to get that computer and get to animatin', haha.

11. Hell... I don't even need a great idea... or the death of a noteworthy figure...
I just can't sleep sometimes for no reason at all.

But now that I think about it... it could be the speed... :P

13. Ah yes, speed induced insomnia, the bane of my existence.
:P

I've had legit insomnia in the past, so at least last nigth wasn't bad like that. Just needed to write down my ideas and listen to some punk rock, haha.
