LBN: President Bush Embarrasses the American Horticultural Society

Washington (OP): Today President Bush enjoyed a guided tour of the National Arboretum by Dr. Barbara Eisen of the American Horticultural Society. At the conclusion of the two hour walk through a sampling of the nation's most prized flora, the President was given the rare opportunity to take home a sample of any of the plants on display. The President thought for a while and finally selected a sprig of a yellow deciduous shrub, claiming that he'd never seen it before.

The President spoke with reporters at a brief press conference following the tour.

"Is that forsythia?" came the first question.

"No," replied the President. "It's for my wife Laura."
