9. It's too hot to cook, and I'm too lazy
I had a full day of swimming, wading, walking and some minimal hiking around La Jolla Shores and Black's Beach.

I took a nap and drooled all over the futon. :(

I went to CVS to go use one of their Kodak centers to make some prints for the new frams I bought to decorate my room.

Thus my dinner will consist of BBQ Genisoy Soy Crisps and maybe some ice cream sandwiches.

:D

I didn't actually clean the shelves, etc, but I got 95% of the nastiness out. Sniffa, wonderful husband that he is, dealt with the 3 tupperwares containing a) 2 wk old Guac, b)Week old Egg salad, and c) 1/2 wk old tuna.

14. 12 week old tuna, yummo!
my fridge is so bare i have room on every shelf, lots of room. I'm going to need that though because when my sister and her kids come out they eat a lot, like grazing all day long. She makes lunch and i'm like who the hell is coming over? Why is there so much food?

17. "Mexican" style hotdish -
I browned hamburger with onions, salt, pepper, and chili powder. Working with what I've got in the pantry, I added a can of tomatoes, a generous cup or so of salsa, and a package of frozen corn (partially thawed). I spread some hot cooked rice in the bottom of a 9x13 pan, layered the meat mixture over that, and topped the whole thing with a goodly amount of shredded Cheddar. It went into the oven for 20 minutes at 325, until everything was uniformly hot and the cheese was all melty. I served it with white corn tortilla chips.

For dessert, we had slices of vanilla cake topped with lots of strawberries.

22. Turkey on toasted crusty bread with brie, apple and spicy mustard...
and a summer cold potato salad of:

new potatoes
1 chipotle in adobo sauce, chopped, enough for 2 tbsp
1/4 cup each of red onion, red pepper, lemon juice
1 cup corn
1 can black beans rinsed
1 jalapeno chopped
3 tbsp canola oil
salt and pepper to taste

Pretty easy, cook the potatoes. Mix the chipotle and oil and lemon juice.
Combine everything, drizzle chipotle dressing, stir and enjoy.

Dessert was raspberry pound cake with kirsch, raspberries from our garden:
