My friend's daughter has cancer. She's 19.
:(

She has cervical cancer, and she's getting married in a few months. Please tell me that recovery rates from this form of cancer are good.

1. If it hasn't spread outside of the cervix
chances for recovery are very good. Let's hope they caught it in time!

3. early detection= 95% survival rate.
I wish the best for her, cancer sucks. Especially when it is a very young person dealing with it.

5. Years ago
A friend of mine (age 18) was diagnosed with the same...and is fine and well today. From what I hear, a fairly good survival rate.

My thoughts are with her for a speedy recovery.

7. that is such scary news to hear
thank goodness from what we're reading this is likely to turn out well for her.

but to hear this, especially in such a young person, is so unnerving and makes your heart go out to her and her family.

many good wishes and prayers for her. :loveya:

8. Do you know how early they caught it?
We all know, the earlier they catch it, the better.

9. My daughter's best friend contracted cancer in the spine years ago.
She endured 32 admissions to the hospital, but finally passed away in her early twenties while attending Clark University in Worcester, MA.

My daughter still stays in touch with her mother, who has had to endure endless sadness.

Dear Ann, RIP. You were a beautiful girl and life treated you badly. I still think of you as a little four-year-old with blazing dark eyes and shiny hair.

Cordially,

Radio Lady in Oregon
