eBayers be aware. Possible Phishing attempt.

I just got an email from someone whose auction I supposedly won (funny because I have not bid on anything since February). He said he shipped it already, even though I did not pay for it (not paying for something I did not bid on).

I checked both of my eBay IDs and there has been no activity.

I have sent the email with all the headers to eBay so they can investigate.

1. Get this all the time

i know its phony because it doesn't come to the email address I use for ebay. I have fun with phishers. I fill in the info with things like Name: G Bush or D Cheney, Mother's maiden name: Demonspawn, etc. My attitude is fill the phisher's database with bs.

you have an ISP that can be tracked, and hackers are everywhere.

2. Have often received those phishing emails over many years

From both "eBay" and "PayPal" (quotes to indicate these are phishing email senders)

Anyway, I always just forward them on to [e-mail] or [e-mail]. :hi:

6. Pay Pal is doing the same thing

I have received several emails in the last month from both Pay Pal and Ebay telling me I need to update my account info or that someone is fraudulently using my account.

But I don't have a Pay Pal or Ebay account.

The real clue was when Ebay spelled my name wrong. LOL

7. Oh, Geez, you should sell a car through them.

You get all those "Your account will be canceled unless you update" and "thank you for your recent purchase, please send account information" phishies, but you also get people from England who are agents for a sheik who is buying a fleet of used whatever you are selling and would be glad to purchase your vehicle if you would be willing to accept a money order and forward him the purchase price.
