This isn't fair. I brush my teeth twice a day, and I floss every day. I'm actually super-anal about it.

1. Just stop eating so much damned ginger and it will go away.
Seriously though, sorry to hear that. What's the dentist say?

2. I was at the dentist a few weeks ago, and he said everything looked fine.
It's only in the last week or two that my gums have been acting weird. Which is, well, weird.

3. Can you think of anything you've done lately that could cause irritation?

5. Is it localized to one area?
Sometimes you'll just get one small irritation, but the natural swelling reaction will cause irritation around it as well. I've had a section of gum feel irritated before and panicked, only to discover that it was just an extension of one space between two teeth that needed to be flossed better. :P

6. Well, the weird itchy sensation is only on one side of my lower jaw,

but the gums around a lot of my bottom teeth look like they're receding or something. Maybe the teeth are just shifting around a bit? (I used to have braces, and I wear a mouthguard at night)

8. Perhaps use a mouth wash
there are such mouth washes available on the market which give resistance to this problem.

10. Some teeth whitening products
can have that affect. They can make the gums all white and look like they're receding. If the dentist says it is nothing, maybe it's just an irritation that will pass.
