is just about completed where the old Chicago Sun-Times building used to be. Said new building is tall...and extremely bland. It would be nice to see some new, interesting looking buildings in this city again.

So, that's what's new in Chicago architecture these days.

It's a neat idea, but the thing still looks like a drill bit to me.

89. One of my girlfriends built the tall building in the background
Edited on Fri Jun-13-08 03:28 PM by Patiod
She was the lead engineer or project manager or whatever you call it (the person who decides when the elevators go it, when the electrical gets done, when the marble gets put up, etc. She oversaw the construction company, and made sure everything got done on time and to spec.)

I got to see it go up from hole in the ground to capping off, and got to go up in it on a "hard hat" tour.

I just love the constrast of the old buildings at street level and the skyscraper on top.

(Note - Sorry - posted to the wrong part of the conversation - should have posted to the OP)

160. I love that one can find straight and gay couples together at this park.
I live close to this park and have never seen "erotic" behavior. I have seen (what seems to me) "normal" expressions of affection and tenderness. Sometimes when one sees LGBT couples behaving like straight couples it's wrongly labeled as "erotic" behavior. I hope that's not the case in this instance.

Now that I have a nice and dense neutral density filter, I'm going to have to try that shot again. It's looking ffom the top of the Houston Police Officers' Memorial to the southeast. It's one of the best vantage points in the city for skyline pics, other than from Allen Parkway along Buffalo Bayou :)

population around 16,000, I don't think we have a building over 3 stories tall... there are trees in town taller than any building.
