Lately, I've added sound editors to my list of evil bastards
I've noticed a trend in movies recently where directors and sound editors will let an alarm clock or telephone ring in a movie for an inordinately long time without turning down the volume on the device after the second or third ring.
1. Having the background sound (i.e., NOISE) so loud you can't hear the dialog
That totally pisses me off. It's a freakin' MOVIE, dammit. We're supposed to "willingly suspend disbelief," so it's not necessary to make it so "realistic" that we can't understand what the eff they're saying.
