Her (aghast): "It's not Friday!!"

Sometimes married life is hilarious.

4. Wednesday is Prince Spaghetti day...
Actually, it was Barilla Spaghetti day, but spaghetti (okay, Angel Hair Pasta) day all the same.

11. Yes it is.
Wednesday night is always pasta, Friday night is always pizza, Sunday lunch is the fanciest meal of the week.

Y'all must be New Englanders at heart. 28 years and that's been every week of my life.

10. I'm even willing to try that weirdo vegan "cheese" if you want.
Mind you, I'm not expecting much, but I'll give it a shot.

12. I haven't tried the new one.
What's-her-name said it was great, though.

And calling vegan cheese "weird" is a helluva thing coming from someone that wanted to make pizza on a frikkin' Wednesday.

:o

21. That's 1am on Saturday
at least it was when I was in college. There was this disgusting place in NW DC by American University called Steak and Egg...we'd all end up shit-faced riding all the way across the city to eat the nastiest breakfast food you'd ever seen every goddamned week. $8 for a 8oz steak, 2 eggs, sausage, bacon, toast and home fries. I found out post-graduation that we'd all hated it and nobody wanted to go, it was just something that we'd been doing so long it continued to occur to that point out of inertia.

Saturday lunch was Ben's Chili Bowl. They serve pretty much one thing...gallons of it in huge servings with cornbread and Coca-cola.

Then 3am on Sunday was piece of pizza bigger than your f%^king head. There is a DC tradition in Adams Morgan among all the pizza shops to have the biggest slice of cheap cheese pizza for sale around the time the bars close. Last time I was down there it was like $4 for a piece measuring an 18" arc at the crust.

Disgustingly, we were all at Ellis Island in Brookland for brunch by noon.

You almost have to have lived in DC to appreciate this post and what a blue-collar cross-section of the city it actually represents.

20. what's in the fridge? Maybe we can help.
After all, I'd never have thought of asparagus for my tuna steaks because my head was stuck Asian. Maybe a fresh perspective?
