George Takei to wed!
http://www.comcast.net/articles/tv/20080604/People.George.Takei/

Congratulations to the happy couple!

Honestly, I'm so pissed off about the condition of our nation that I almost don't know how to feel positive about it. But then something like the California Supreme Court decision comes along, and I suddenly have a new reason to start feeling at least a little optimistic!

2. Is the honeymoon going to be on Ceti Alpha VI?
I just have to know.

30. NO! CETI ALPHA V!
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 10:56 AM by EstimatedProphet
Ceti Alpha VI exploded six months after Khan was left there! Captain Kirk never went back to check on them!

From Hell's heart I stab at thee! Revenge is a dish that is best served cold!

8. I'm betting on Risa.
Anyway, Ceti Alpha VI exploded, so it wouldn't make a particularly appealing honeymoon destination.

18. Ceti Alpha VI was a hellish planet, and massively unstable
You're thinking of Ceti Alpha V, of course.

19. Right. Except that after Ceti Alpha VI exploded, Ceti Alpha V got knocked off orbit...
....and it became all the more hellish.

I think it depends on whether they go during Ceti eel season or not. That could make or break a vacation.

Okay, I am really channeling my inner Star Trek nerd right now. But come on, Wrath of Khan was just great.

20. But if only one of them gets the eel, it would cut down on disagreements
Still, you'd think that the folks on Reliant would have figured out that a planet was missing!

But you're right--a fine film!

29. He must have one hell of a memory
IIRC, Chekov hadn't yet debuted by the time that the events in Space Seeds occurred...

38. Chekov was just a member of the engineering night crew at that time.
Edited on Thu Jun-05-08 12:56 PM by PeterU
However, what happened was that during Khan's stay on the Enterprise, Chekov was actually holding up the toilet on Khan. He opened the stall door, having left no toilet paper, to find an angry finger being pointed in his face and was told, "You! I'll NEVER forget you!!"

That was Walter Koenig's theory, at least. And a damn fine one, may I add.

40. In that context, Khan's wrath makes a lot more sense
I thought that he was just pissed about the whole "Kirk killed my wife" thing.

21. Kirk never bothered to check up on their progress
Thnks only to Khan's genetically engineered intelligence they were able to survive.

Khan was the hero; Kirk the villain.

34. The biggest event in his life since the explosion at Praxis, I'm sure.
Although blowing up that Klingon ship so close to the Kittimer accords was pretty big, too.

Congratulations, George.
