wow. "wargames" is on amc right now...
1983. matthew broderick, ally sheedy, the "wopr" supercomputer...

dude's floppy disks are like 10" big and that flex-y type in the paper casings. he dials other computers directly with a telephone handset plugged into a cradle.

and that command line interface on his "pc" is extra sexy.

when dude wants to look up information, he runs to the library to search through "microfilm" of paper publications.

made in 1983. i love movies of ancient history...

3. Watch the first Lethal Weapon.
Danny Glover has one of those "man purse" size cell phones. The rest of that movie isn't THAT far off from today, but that cell phone sticks out like a sore thumb.

8. Early "Law and Order" has a similar phone. Built like a brick, only longer.

5. Want ancient history?
Try watching "All the King's Men" with Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman, made in the '70's. Typewriters, filing cabinets, and land line phones. Talk about ancient!
