I don't want to brag about my typing skills, but....
Edited on Mon Jun-02-08 06:09 PM by Bicoastal
Today, for my new job, I was given a 5-minute computerized test...

I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw the results--70 words per minute, ZERO mistakes.

Not bad for a 26-year-old, eh? I knew pounding away in GDP would come in handy someday.:argh:

3. My 18yo daughter just got tested at 61 wpm - I attribute it all to
IM'ing from the age of 13/14 :-). She does not touch type, do you? 70 wpm is fast :-)

5. i'm a 70wpm person too
if i allow errors i can get above that. what's weird is that when i'm typing really fast, i feel like i'm making errors, so i'll slow down, but if i ignore that and just keep going, i find out later i didn't make any errors. i'm guessing that the reason i feel like i'm making errors when i'm not is that when you are typing fast you are on the next letter while you are typing the current one and it feels like an error, but in fact, it's not.

6. Last time I took one of those I got somewhere in the 90s if I recall correctly...
although I had to slow down to make sure I didn't make mistakes. :P

And I was using a regular keyboard when I'm used to using a split.

7. You're like my daughter; she keys like the freakin' wind.
She took a test last year and came out at 98 wpm/2 mistakes; I'M the one who nearly fell off my chair! *lol* I can't type terribly well, although I am getting much better at it (never learned properly, so I've been trying to improve on my own) I'd be lucky if I can type 30 wpm.

Hope the new job goes well for you!
:hi:
