Because not all headphones are created equal, that's for damn sure.

I bought a really good pair that I misplaced for a week. Listening to DSOTM you can tell the difference between the good pair you invested in and the cheap shit the manufacturer gives you when you buy your MP3 player.

I've seen higher prices but with a mortgage this is all I can afford for now. But they were highly rated and you can tell the difference.

I bought mine for recording studio use, so I went a bit into the higher end . Sad thing is, shortly after I bought them, I started seeing them everywhere at discount for $99 :(

6. There are some times I'll use them

When I'm working out I usually use the cheap stuff but then again I'm probably listening to some bouncy workout type music that's gonna sound the same no matter what. I sweat and don't want to ruin the good ones with all the salt from sweat.

I also keep a spare crap set of headphones in my deskdrawer just incase I forget to pack the good ones. There's a bit of noise in the area and when I want quiet I like to play my Ipod and would rather have the crappy set on than listen to noisy neighbors distract me.

I must have been drunk at the time!

Glad I have them though. They really are nice.

They help in games too. I play UT and the accusations of 'radar bot' went up with these as I hear my opponent coming. (H4R H4R, n00bs!)

12. I got lucky and I found a couple of decent pairs at a closeout price.

So I've got one padded pair with volume control and pretty good sound for when I'm doing stuff at my computer, and one decent regular pair for when I'm listening to my mp3 player and whatnot.
