4. Seriously, though
I think you have to come up with a concept, get the buy in of 10 DU Donors, write a "Mission Statement" and then propose it to Skinner. That's how I remember the rules for getting a new forum going.

5. What about a Topic Forum (e.g., an Issue Forum or a Culture Forum)?

Would that kind of forum require a Mission Statement?

Could you link to a Mission Statement for an existing forum that I can read to get an idea of what's involved?

6. An Issue/Culture Forum? That I don't know.
I think those were put in place by Admin due to simple demand. Probably best to go straight to Skinner on that request.

As to the "Groups" forums, here's the Mission Statement for the Pro-Choice Forum, which I think is very well written:

The mission of the DU Pro-choice group is to bring together like-minded progressive individuals, to collaborate on ideas to protect the right of every woman to make personal reproductive health decisions and choices. This forum supports a woman's right to privacy and choice based upon medical consultation, a woman's conscience and those in which she chooses to confide. The DU Pro-Choice group supports Roe v. Wade and complete reproductive freedom for women of all races, creeds, religions and backgrounds.

8. You need to
get other DUers to agree it's necessary, prepare a mission statement (just what the forum is about and why) and present it all to skinner (who still won't let me do a sex forum although I promised I'd mod it like a fascist).

Khash.

11. I used to run a sex website
and I was very strict. No crudity or demeaning people. That's what I meant. But people do have sexual issues and need to talk about them. And sex is related to politics. I didn't want a porn forum. But he refused and it's his site.

And, sweetheart, I'm not a sadist (unless you ask really nicely), I'm a masochist (in so many ways, dammit).

Khash.
