Discuss the pros and cons of keeping a giraffe as a pet.
I've always loved giraffes, and I would dearly love to have one, but I already have two dogs and two cats. I'm not sure the landlord would allow me to have a giraffe. Plus, my backyard is kind of small. However, it *is* fenced in, and there are a couple of tall trees he/she could eat from.

So, how 'bout it? Should I get a giraffe, or not? And, are there any rescue organizations for giraffes? I'd rather rescue one than pay a breeder.

10. There IS a giraffe rescue in Kenya.
I'm sure the downside is going to be in the paperwork.

And the travel accomadations.

And the stepping over your fence to wander the neighborhood.

13. Gawd, they can step over the fence???
I thought it would be content to stay in my tiny back yard, as compared to the vase emptiness of the African savannah. Damn.

14. Pros...
1) they are quite
2) they will keep your tree branches pruned and your power lines clear.
3) they can be leased to the city for free leaf and branch removal.
4) can be easily fitted with helmet cams for security and crowd control.
5) can supplement goat as energy free, grass remediation crew, saving hundreds of dollars in taxpayer dollars.

Hell, you might even get a Homeland Security grant to pay for him and his upkeep. Now THAT'S how I like to see my tax dollars in action;)

It's against the law to tie giraffes to telephone poles in Atlanta.
