Good grief, reinventing ET to show the Feds carrying walkie-talkies instead of guns was pathetic enough, now this.

Will somebody chop off Lucas's hands so he won't ruin anything else he's created?

4. Actually...
If you watch the original movie closely you will see a burning hole next to Han after he fries Guido. Don't know if that was in the book or not, but I distinctly remember that because I didn't want to think Han would kill in cold blood like that.

5. Missed something...
What's this about???

I didn't notice the change in ET either, but I hadn't seen it in ages.

Is this in the "special edition" version of Star Wars?

Gimme a break!

You know I heard an interview with Lucas by Robin Williams, and he said that the furvor aginst Jar Jar Bush was nothing new. He said that w/ Star Wars people hated the Droids, with Empire, people hated Yoda and with Jedi, people hated the Ewoks. Minus Jedi, does anyone remember ANYONE ever hating the Droids or Yoda???

7. TOO F*CKING RIGHT!!!! (although it's Greedo, isn't it?)
Edited on Thu Aug-07-03 07:40 PM by Pert_UK
That Star Wars edit turns Han from being a pragmatic, rebellious natural survivor into an incompetant half-wit who was only alive through sheer fluke and who gave his enemies the chance to kill him. Greedo's miss was farcical......

I would NEVER buy the "remastered" version of Star Wars....except that I had to because I could get all 5 SW films on DVD in China for a dollar each...

:-)

P.

P.S.
"Greedo" from SW, "Guido the killer pimp" from Risky Business?

9. The cinematic crime of the century
It's clear to anyone over the age of two that there's no way that Greedo's blaster bolt can emerge at that angle from his gun. I almost :puke:d in the aisle the first time I saw that.

This little change makes Solo look like a complete boob, and it cheapens his eventual transformation into a good guy who risks himself for others.

11. Man, that Greedo (Guido?) is sure a lousy bounty hunter!
If he misses Solo at point-blank range!
