A word about....
fear & doubting one's self:

We all face challenges in our lives... things we need to overcome. I'm going to share a story, with you, from a Trainer for one of the airlines I used to work for. The Trainer (teacher) told our class, "When you are faced with something difficult, you may find yourself remembering everyone who ever told you that you couldn't do something...." She went on to give the best pep talk I've ever had - and probably will ever have - in my entire life. She told us that we need to believe in ourselves... that we can overcome... and push out of our minds the negative comments people told us in the past (comments that made us doubt ourselves).

I wish I could remember more of that Trainer's exact words. You know... that was 1987. I was young and vulnerable at that time. Since then, I've read somewhere that people are more open to learning - and more receptive - immediately following a stressful time in their lives. Whatever the reason, I'm very thankful I've never forgotten that pep talk. It comes in handy, especially in difficult times, and I thought I'd share it with the Lounge.... for whatever it might be worth to anyone else.

:grouphug:

p.s., I rode my bike, all by myself, for the first time today! :D

I've named her BB:

1. good for you!!
as someone who learned to ride at the tender age of 9 on a trail bike on the farm, I can't imagine what it would be like to learn today in my mid 40s. You keep on keepin on and don't pay any mind to the naysayers ;)

I remember my Dad telling me "you'll never make a dime playing that damn guitar". One of the highlights of my life was in 1995 when I filed on $60k and had done nothing that year but play music for a living....made the old bugger eat his words. :D

Naysayers can get the best of a person, sometimes, I know. Thanks again. :hi:
