2. LOL I love that picture but it makes me nervous.
I am a total klutz. No, I've never choked on a pretzel, but I have sprained my ankle stepping on an ant. :p

28. Washington in the summer can be very hard on some people.
I took my mother there on vacation one year and she had a difficult time with ankles swelling, very miserable. Two hints: a little spritz spray water bottle for misting oneself, and lots of baby powder applied before going out. I even carried a little container of baby powder in my bag when I lived there. Also, if you freeze a bottle of drinking water the night before and carry it with you, it can be an instant remedy if held against the back of the neck for a few moments.

Heat misery can be very real.

6. They rent them in the French Quarter
and they aint very popular because the sidewalks are so narrow. They've caused borderline violence when two or more folks Segway down the street towards walkers.

I've never done it, but it might have some value.

8. Egg-selent
I love the french quarter, Cross Dressers, scantily clad coeds, stumbling drunks, Nuns, Priests, the occasional Marie Laveau cavorting about, and Marie Antoinette losing her head or looking for head. I just can't add Segways as something that belongs in the quarter.

17. Maybe not in the Quarter......
But NOLA is made for the things. everytime I go there I think about how cool it would be to have one there.....Ride out to Tips, to the fairgrounds, the park etc..... But things are just a bit too tight for the FQ I think...

9. They're a lot of fun
And very easy to use. I'd buy one if we lived in a place where they were practical. Here in countryside of western PA, you don't ride a Segway for the same reason you don't ride a bike--you'd get run over by rednecks in pickup trucks.

21. I saw a group of Segway-tourists on a recent trip there.
It was HILARIOUS! And I was secretly jealous behind my sneer. :)

I would do it in a heartbeat, but I might wear a disguise.

24. They looked pretty silly actually. About 10 of them all rolling along followed the tour guide.
Amongst all the people walking. I just find the whole segway thing pretty hilarious, even though I really would love to try one.

It was awesome! They are a blast to ride, and it didn't hurt that Merida is a beautiful city.

26. I can see why those might appeal to people
But whenever I see folks on them, riding around with a goober tourist expression, and a helmet, it makes me think that foreign visitors must surely think all their stereotypes of Americans are true. We can't actually, you know, walk anywhere anymore.

I think they make you look stupid, in short.

But, like I said, I can see why it might appeal, and be fun. Especially for kids.
