My sister-in-law gave me a HUGE zucchini.
It is 18 inches long and the thickest part is 12 inches in circumference. I am generally pessimistic about the flavor of such large vegetables, think they are probably bland. What should I do with this thing? Is it worth cooking? How should I prepare it?

2. hmm. I read in Animal, Vegetable, Miracle that the family used
excess zucchini in their chocolate chip cookie mix, and an entire birthday party of 12-year-olds never noticed. I dunno - make cookies?

3. Look up recipes for marrows.
A marrow is just an overgrown zucchini/courgette anyway. Mark.

12. if it grew fast because of lots of rain, it won't be bad. If it is just overgrown it
could be pithy. If it is pithy, grate it, freeze it in portions, and make zuchinni bread with it. It will keep in the freezer for quite a while

how I often deal with them. Another way I like very much is after standing it on end and slicing it (about 3/8" thick), brush slices with olive oil and grill them over hardwood charcoal. Salt and pepper and enjoy. I envy you, Downeast we can't even put seeds in the ground yet.
