Morans on a cruise!
http://blogs.usatoday.com/cruiselog/2008/05/report-royal-ca.html?csp=34?se=yahoorefer

The site says that while Brenda and Gerald Moran liked sailing on Royal Caribbean, they had a habit of documenting all sorts of problems big and small that occurred during their cruises, from a birthday greeting delivered to the wrong cabin to a toilet malfunction that spilled sewage into their bathroom. And they weren't shy about talking about the problems in online cruise forums.

At first, Royal Caribbean tried to make nice by offering the couple a discount on a future cruise and other perks. But after the Morans kept posting at online site cruisecritic.com about their complaints -- and the compensation that they were getting out of Royal Caribbean by complaining -- the line changed its tune, says expertcruiser.com. The site says the Morans received a phone call from a Royal Caribbean executive and then an official letter informing them they were banned from the line forever.

A spokesman for Royal Caribbean tells expertcruiser.com that the couple had complained about all but one of six cruises with the company since 2004. “In a small number of cases we agreed and compensated them appropriately. In most cases, however, we disagreed," the spokesman told the site. "Having concluded that we are unable to meet the expectations of the Morans, we have told them that they would be best served by sailing with another company."

The Morans, meanwhile, say they're now sailing on Norwegian Cruise Line.

1. Travel Whiners
I cant stand those people, as nothing will ever please them
and they are on flights also, and give the ticket agents hard times, when the agents are trying
to be nice and accomodate them...

:grr: :grr: :grr:

:hi:

2. This explains GD: P.
It would appear that some posters in that forum are seeking a check or some other compensation from one of the two remaining camps.

4. Ah, the people who want something for nothing
We get them in our store all the time. I've had people seriously tell me, "I've been shopping here for 30 years and I never find what I want!"

I always have to bite my tongue to keep from asking, "Then why do you keep shopping here?" (and no, it isn't even remotely the only - or the cheapest - store in town)

5. That kind is exactly why I couldn't stand retail employment...
or any kind of job where I had to deal with the general public. Perhaps some of their complaints were legit, but how much do you really deserve to be compensated when a birthday greeting gets delivered to the wrong cabin?

My s/o is a florist, and man- some of the stories he tells me of customers becoming irate over idiotic things really baffle me. A few weeks ago, they fully refunded a bride about 2 weeks prior to her wedding when she went totally ballistic and abusive over her portrait bouquet.

6. more businesses need to take this approach, especially small ones
some people will never be satisfied, that is why they need throwing through the plate glass window in the front of the store.

Cruise lines are obviously not small companies, but the principle remains the same.
