Does your mail carrier resent you because of all the catalogs you receive?
I have made purchases online and through the mail. The number of catalogs I was receiving grew exponentially. Up to five a day.

Then one day, the straw that made me lose it, was Insightful Design by Franklin Covey!

Evil leather insinuating that organization is the key to success and happiness? That causes the same sort of nausea and loathing that going to Free Republic brings on.

So I went to trusty google and found this Catalog Choice. Here you can opt-out of catalog hell with a few mouse clicks. It is free and easy.

Some of the companies actually refused to honor my requests through Catalog Choice.
These were: Garnet Hill, Isabella Bird, Napastyle, The Territory Ahead, Title Nine, Eddie Bauer and Spiegel.

I was disappointed in Title Nine, because their catalog is cool and I actually liked their stuff, but refusing my request put them in the crap. Same goes for Eddie, I used to love Eddie.

Anyway, I called the companies that refused and requested that they please stop littering my mailbox, not in so many words, but very politely, because phone wonks are not their company.

It has been a long haul, but I have stopped receiving so many catalogs and dirty looks from my mail carrier. With online companies, there is no good reason for so many catalogs, so sign up and save a tree.

2. What about your Bush special surprise?
Better rein Spike in until your whopping big stimulus package arrives.

7. I think that this might work to my advantage.
I have a lot of out-of-town friends and relatives and at Christmas time I start feeling guilty. No more, I am going to blame the mail carrier for all of the packages!

Oh, wait, I like those packages. I think I will just ask my mail carrier why he hates Christmas.

6. For me, it's not catalogs
It's magazines. I subscribe to about 25 magazines, including five weeklies.

I get kind of paranoid when my magazines aren't delivered on time. I can't help but think the mail carrier is depriving me of reading material on purpose!
