I want Matcom's JOB! You too?
Let's see, it's about 10 AM in Beantown, right? He is posting funny news stories for us.

Occasionally he sees and shares interesting stuff occurring outside of his office window--obviously a good view.

I, on the other hand, at 10 AM AZ time, am staring at a book distribution database, trying for the 10th time this year to restock ourr stolen copies of Dave Pelzer books.

My only view is the (literally) stainless steel surrounded office (we call them cages--no joke) or a stack of decaying library books ready to be discarded.

I WANT MATCOM'S JOB, DAMMIT!

4. Thanks--I frequently have to call the East Coast and with
AZ time, it's impossible to keep straight.

Yeah, you're right about his boss; mine's an absolute sweetheart except at budget time.

6. Oh yeah, it can be hard to follow time zones in AZ.
I forgot about that.

2. People steal "Child Called It" etc? Why?
Seems like there is so much more available...CD-ROMs from the computer books, tarot cards, bibles (yes we have people stealing bibles - I guess you can rationalize that by saying they obviously need one.)

Richardo <--- P/T bookseller

3. Bibles and witchcraft are big thefts in libraries too.
It astonishes me that peaople STEAL from libraries (used to be a bookseller, too) but it's quite common.

Pelzer's books disappear at an astonishing rate though; libraries consistently rate "Child Called It" as having the most "legs." I used to moan and whine, but now I just reorder the thing, 20 at a time, 3-4 times a year.
