Paypal question... help please!
I'm using Paypal to pay for a deposit on a short-term vacation rental. I only use Paypal once in a blue moon, and generally only to purchase things.

When the guy refunds the money to me (through Paypal), does it automatically go back onto my credit card? I admit I'm oblivious to how this works.

1. you mean into your bank?
It depends on how you have it set up. I also don't use paypal that often, but as far as I know, there's no way for them to put money back on a credit card, like someone could do at a business that takes cards. You can have the paypal account hooked up to a bank account that you assign to it, and set preferences so that the money goes into that account.

2. I would never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever give PayPal your bank account information.
PayPal ripped me off for $72 in 2005 and denied they did it. They submitted a debit for $72 for no reason, and I did not discover this until about 45 days later, after the "cutoff" period my bank gives me to contest charges. The bank verified that it was PayPal who got the money, but PayPal refused to even admit that the transaction took place. In my opinion, it is always dangerous to use PayPal and it is extremely dangerous to give PayPal any access to any of your account numbers. By far the best way is to have them mail a check to you. It costs $1.50, but it is worth it if it keeps their greedy, unscrupulous fingers out of your accounts.
