1. We can't help you...
You must call your local HVAC service and get a tech to troubleshoot the unit. Then they will tell you what the problem is and what needs to be done.

Really, what I'm looking for is how much do these things cost?

edit: I don't like inviting technicians to my home without having at least a rough idea of what is involved.

4. What it costs will be determined by local market conditions..
and what it will take to repair it. In NYC the costs of labor and material vary from one business to the next. It is not possible to tell you what it will cost until the unit is tested. The best someone can do is to quote labor rates - again, a local condition.

3. It depends
is the AC unit or the blower? A fuse? Is it a heat pump? It's really hard to say what it's going to cost because it could be something very simple or if it's serious, depends on the type of unit.

Sorry you're having trouble with it. I lived in the south for 20 years. I know heat season too well. x(

5. You're lucky.
It's going to cool off for the next few days. Maybe that will give you time to find someone before it cranks up again by the end of next week. We're still using fans right now but it's a little warm in the house. 80 degrees.
