1. I don't see any Boch on the list, or Plzen
Go by the genre, not the species.

6. I love Corsendonk, but I don't know that the one I love is the one listed there.
I love really yeasty beers, and Corsendonk is (or has) a beer that actually fits my bill, and which no other so-called "yeasty" beer I've tried can measure up to in quantity of yeast, except a Swedish one I had 25 years ago, the name of which I never got but which I drank at a wonderful restaurant in Ann Arbor (possibly Detroit) that had a menu of a 100 or so foreign beers and had cool cards that one could get with all the beers listed on it and which the bar would hole punch for each beer that one tried and when one filled up the card, one got one's name on the Wall of Fame. That particular beer was one that was served by tipping the 25 or so oz. bottle upside down into the giant glass, so as to effect the maximum amount of agitation in the liquid, forcing all the yeast to distribute itself evenly through the glass. Wonderful!!

7. I like doing that with hefeweissen...
to activate all those tasty esters...

I have had Corsedonk before, but I think it may have been improperly stored as it was recommended highly, and I wasn't wild about it. What sort of fare would you serve it with? Salmon, maybe?

Check out their menu: http://www.mannequinpis.com/daily_menu.php
I'm so psyched!

19. What I had at the Belgian place by me was pretty good
I'm not big on those ales, but I can drink them. We had a meetup by my house not long ago and across from where we ate was a Belgian beer garden so we went there for a while. Both of those guys know what's up with that stuff..lol.

20. I recently had Hoegaarden, and loved it. Also...(2nd rec)
A dark, slightly sweet beer (not sure if it's officially an ale), and not too bitter.

And if you want something truly heavenly, get the Lindemans Peche (it's a peach lambic, and is to DIE for).

27. Some are an acquired taste, definitely...
I've tried some that I enjoy very much...but I have weird tastebuds. I loved Cantillon Gueuze the first time I tried it...tart and bitter is good for me.

I'm tempted by the Oerbier...

Thanks for your suggestions! :toast:

30. No problem.
I love beer and Belgian ales especially. I've been tipped off to a bar that's not too far from my house that stockpiles tons of different kinds. I should check that out.
