Ignoring my E for empty gas gage I loaded up the kids to take our daughter and her friend to dance class. Due to the cost of gas we bought a '69 VW bug and this was the first tank, and I figured that I had a mile or so on the bottom of reserve, my kids thought it best to stop first.

We got about 1/2 mile before our "punch-buggy" gasped then sputtered out. It sucks to be second guessed by your (new) kids, and much crow was eaten.

THANK YE GODS that CaliforniaPeggy lives a couple of blocks from where I ran out of gas and she was there in a nano-second. She scooped us up, dropped the girls off at their dance studio, and ran me to my house and back to my parched beetle, with my trusty can O' gas.
