ok , running 4 miles a day , I am managing to lower
my Diastolic Blood pressure to between 65-75 ... it used to hover in the 90'a and hundreds a mere 50 days ago.

But , as hard as I run , My systolic is stuck between 125-135 ... I need to lower it to below 120.

My Doc thinks 130 is perfectly healthy , but I'm being OCD about it (goes without saying)

Maybe I should start slowly building towards 8 miles a day ... having to work 12 hours a day interferes .

1. My dear UndertheOcean...
You're doing great...no need to run yourself into the ground!

Your systolic pressure is fine...your doctor is right!

It doesn't need to be under 120, for crying out loud!

If you can run longer, go ahead, but do it gradually...

You certainly don't need to run 8 miles EVERY damn day...

It takes time for the body to get used to this level of exercise, OK?

You should be proud of your progress!

2. Low blood pressure
can be just as dangerous...if not more...than high bp.

Low can cause you to pass out where you don't really want to be out of it.

3. Hell, I don't exercise at all and mine's 109/51.
I eat well, or at least low sodium and low fat/cholesterol... more fiber/grains and more vegetables when possible.

Okay, I do exercise - essentially walking as my doctor said running might make my bulging disc condition worse...

6. Not necessarily
I've been told to exercise more... the chronic fatigue hasn't helped either. :(

4. That's still a good number.
Congrats on getting it lower and becoming healthier.

Mine occasionally runs in the 140's and that is with meds. Back with my 2nd pregnancy I developed blood pressure problems and had to take meds for about 6 months to get things under control. Fast forward 8yrs and I am back on a low dose. I eat low fat and low sodium but the numbers won't budge. Of course I could lose about 20 pounds and that may help but haven't got motivated yet.

8. You're going to be visiting the Orthopedist very soon at this rate.
Better mix in some other low impact exercise or you'll be missing a knee or hip joint.

pain would fill the same void running is filling right now , as for being useless and not able to work , does not matter , I already feel useless.

Ok, I am going into drama queen mode .... better run some more.

10. 8 miles a day, would be 56 miles a week, which would be
starting to be into the obsessive about running I'd think.

I hope even with the 4 miles a day, that you give your muscles time to rest occasionally and take a day off, or lift weights or vary your routine. Not being snarky or critical, I'm impressed with your devotion to your sport, I just worry that you might over do it.

:hi:
