I've been watching the pre-game show for almost an hour and I havnt seen a single horse.
Lots of stoopid hats,
Lots of rich pricks, wearing hats,.
Some vapid celebs,with some fucking idiotic hats
A few fashion consultants talking about hats

Does it matter?
I see all the jockeys standing straight up in the stirrups.
Looks like if they hunkered down on the steed's back it would cut down on wind resistance/drag?
I dunno.

the jockeys are crouched down over the horses backs..They aren't really standing up straight in the stirrups.

They were bent over, but legs almost straight.

Trust me..thats the optimal position for both "aerodynamics" and not overly burdening the horse ..I think it distributes the jockey's weight to the horse's advantage. Sitting down on the horse slows it down...:)

I cried for a week when Ruffian broke down in 1975 against Foolish Pleasure.

I'm pretty shaken up after this filly breakdown too. I don't think I've ever seen a faster descent from glory into oblivion -- maybe ten minutes?
