I just signed up for a free trial on Ancestry.com. M'god that's addicting.

I just found proof that my sister is right, and we're related to Luther Libby. Ever hear of Libby Prison. My great, great, great, great grandfather owned the business they converted into that prison. Not much to be proud of, but it's history. And it's not like it had his name on it because he was running it. The Union commandeered it and didn't even give him time to take his sign down. Hence, Libby Prison.

My sister has our family going all the way back to the Huguenots in France. Our family got kicked out for being Lutheran. Protestant from WAY back, baby.

My brain hurts now. Is that a side effect?

I was up until 5 am this morning looking shit up.

6. Is it really worth paying for the world membership?

My husband's parents have been here for a few generations. I just don't know how far back or where they came from. I can't believe they don't know these things but there ya go. They are now curious and I find it interesting hence the question.

But I know that my family goes back to England and France at least, so it's tempting.
