12. Definitely Ring of Fire

Ring of Fire

Wall of Voodoo version, too ;)
(the video is only okay; the music alone is the best part)

8. I know the song is actually Trent Reznor's...
...but Cash made Hurt his own. I was floored by his version.

9. tough call, but probably Train of Love---I used to sing that
in a rockabilly band about 8 years ago, and did it pretty damned well if I do say so myself (and I do). Also love the immortal: Flushed From the Bathroom of Your Heart ( what can I say , I'm just a sucker for sentimental songs like that)

16. "I See A Darkness"
Too many really, but I love Johnny's take on Wil Oldham's "I See A Darkness":

http://recluseshow.blogspot.com/2008/04/i-see-darkness-johnny-cash.html

Watch Wil's version, too; both are glorious..

I See A Darkness-

Well, you're my friend
And can you see
Many times we've been out drinking
Many times we've shared our thoughts
But did you ever, ever notice, the kind of thoughts I got
Well you know I have a love, for everyone I know
And you know I have a drive, to live I won't let go
But can you see this opposition, comes rising up sometimes
That is dread full imposition, comes blacking in my mind

And then I see a darkness
And then I see a darkness
And then I see a darkness
And then I see a darkness
Did you know how much I love you
There's a hope that somehow you
Can save me from this darkness

Well I hope that someday buddy
We'll have peace in our lives
Together or apart
Alone or with our wives
And we can stop our whoring
And pull the smiles inside
And light it up forever
And never go to sleep
My best unbeaten brother
This isn't all I see

Oh no, I see your darkness
Oh no, I see your darkness
Oh no, I see your darkness
Oh no, I see your darkness
Did you know how much I love you
There's a hope that somehow you
You'll save me from this darkness....

17. "Look at them beans!"
My friend Kitty put it on a mixtape for me a few years ago. It is truly bizarre. I will try and find it on youtube and repost.
