"You have to climb to the top of Mt. Everest to reach the Valley of the Dolls"

So, last weekend, I watched via Netflix one of my all time favorite bad, trashy movies (I'm sort of a bad movie fan. Has to be entertainingly bad, though). I adore "Valley of the Dolls"...from the horrible acting (largely Patty Duke's) to the idiotic songs to the laughingly bad dialogue to the wonderful scene in the ladies room near the end...when Neely O'Hara (Duke) gets in a big ol' catfight with Helen Lawson (Susan Hayward), utimately ending when O'Hara grabs Lawson's wig and throws it into the toilet. Great, great stuff. :-)

BTW: Judy Garland was actually hired to play Helen Lawson in "Valley". It would have been fabulous to watch, but I think the subject matter (pills and booze) might have hit a bit too close to home with Judy Garland.
