do support groups support you?

hoping people will share their personal experiences with support groups. i am desperately seeking help in dealing with a mentally ill teenage child. we are getting plenty of "professional help" for her, and consequently things are more and more fucked up all the time. i mostly resist letting anymore of my life get sucked up into this kids troubles. but clearly there is a tipping point to that strategy and i would like to stay on this side of it. do you think a support group would help?

1. Yes, I think this might help

Not only would give you an outlet to discuss your experiences, but you could also benefit from the experiences of others in similar circumstances. I have gone to one and I couldn't believe the sympathy and kindness I recieved from people who I never would have thought I had anything in common with. Good luck and let us know how it goes.:hug:
