Casting sucks.
I've whittled a pool of about 50 down to 20 for my closed auditions (for my original musical), but at the same time I feel like I've let a lot of talented, deserving people down. And those were just the girls! (Only about 8 guys are interested, so no whittling was necessary.)

It's been like pulling teeth. From now on, someone else does this for me...

1. as long as you didn't tell those girls they didn't get the part because
they were too fat or ugly to their faces I'm sure they will get over it.

2. But that's EXACTLY what I'm doing!
Every single time! And I still can't figure out why this is so difficult!

:P

3. Where's this audition of which you speak?
If you need a fat, 30 something, Spanish guy, who can sing a little but can't dance to save his life... you let me know.

5. And if it's so hard to find good talent, why do I get rejected?
In fact, I was actively scared off from one production, because I committed the cardinal sin: I had to wear my glasses on stage to not fall off of it.
