Congratulations on getting away

What the hell is wrong with you?

11. May I share
one of my favorite motivational quotes of all time:

Henry Ford 1903:

"WHETHER YOU THINK YOU CAN OR YOU CAN'T, YOU'RE RIGHT"

It always had a positive effect on my Sailors who came to me and told me they could not do something.

I got your Six My Dear and I'll tend to the Keg at the finish line.

12. Thursday I tried a gymnastics class and learned the rules
1. No freaking out
2. No "I Can't." 25 pushups for each utterance.
3. If you're in this class, you're not old.

26. Hey shipmate
I always did my damndest. I always tried to do my PRT test before the crew so I could team up with the kids I knew would have a hard time. Any of my Sailors who beat my PRT score got a 72. Very few did but the incentive was there. Positive reinforcement is one of God's little gifts. And as long as I was in charge, the Chief's Mess Provided the Keg. I understand such camaraderie is frowned upon nowadays.

27. You can't imagine how things have changed these days...
I do that as well. I always do my PRT on the first day so I can help anyone who might need some "motivation" on the run in the subsequent days. I'm not a Chief yet, but what I do know about it is what they go through today is way, way different than what you probably went through. It's not even called "Chief's Initiation" any more. It's now called "Induction". Pretty lame if you ask me. I'm not one for all the beatings and ass-kickings, but something has been lost I think. It's like ESWS. When ADM Johnstone made it mandatory for advancement, the program Navy-wide got dummied down. I got my ESWS on the USS Carl Vinson (CNV-70). It was the hardest 4 months of my life. :wtf: is wrong with this picture when you can get ESWS qualified on a Nuclear-powered Aircraft Carrier in 4 months?

42. HAHAHAHA. Probably not.
But BOSSHOG will. Sometimes I forget that for someone who has never been in the Navy, it can seem like a foreign language when two people who were/are in the Navy are speaking. We do have our own language.

Distance between the couch and the fridge x 2 (for round-trip) no. of beers you drink each night x how many nights you've been drinking beers.
