OUR FAITH IS SURE is huge, but 'our union is strong' is tiny.

6. The RNC actually called me to ask for a donation a year ago
It was bad enough that they did this, but they woke me up and were very persistant. If they called me today, I'd know what to say, but they woke me from a sound sleep and I was quite shocked, to put it mildly. What could I possibly have done to get on their list? If they called today, that would be the first thing I'd ask, then I'd give them a rant that they wouldn't soon forget, thanks to all I have learned with help from DU!:-)

7. how did you get on their list?
Maybe you're a registered voter? Maybe you have a phone?

RNC is a mass marketer. They are like McDonalds, which considers everyone a potential customer. If you think about it, they're even fond of little trinkets, like McDonalds is, too. Remember how they gave out little gee-gaws and doo-dads to get people to write those letters to the editor? They pass out those plastic credit-type cards (gold in color) like confetti.

Hey when you have no policy to hang your hat on you have to depend on gimmicks and stupidity to stay alive. In America, land of the stupid and unaware, that's enough to not only stay alive but flourish.

10. Thanks, Cher, for the explanation
I have always wondered about this. My friend's dad, who is active in local Democratic politics, suggested that it was because my late father was active in local, state and even national Republican circles and they recognized the last name. I don't know. I have signed petitions locally and taken part in a couple of marches, but they were not sponsored by local Republicans.

You have to know that I live in serious freeper country. I would like to think that my dad, if he were living, while he may have supported his local friends, would have recognized on what a dangerous road Bush* and cabal is leading this country. My dad was very astute, despite his local Republican ties. I live in serious freeper country. It is generally just a choice of one Republican over another. Most local elections are uncontested. I don't worry about that as much as state and national elections. This is what really constitutes policy. Both of my senators are Democrats, but I have only heard back twice from one of them, despite my constant e-mails, faxes and phone calls.

8. Whatever.
If he's such a brave and courageous leader, why did he hide in a protected military base on the morning of the biggest tragedy in American history?

11. What do you expect...?
What do you expect from a guy who ran on the message "I fuck my wife?" :eyes: I mean the republicans, after clinton, are equating integrity with fucking their WIVES. Have you seen their wives? :puke: If you wanna hear more about that, watch Bill Maher's Comedy special on HBO...it's running constantly right now...HILARIOUS.
