3. So where the hell are you?
I am visiting a friend in Maine, and earlier, with the wind-chill factor, I can only guess at like -80. I only know this since I had to go outside to smoke!

I live in Connecticut, which is like the tropics compared to here. My next step is to translate my job to Florida or one of those tax-shelter places...as long as it is warm! Got no use for winter!! keep it on the postcard!!

10. Cold is Cold
Can't argue with you there! But if you drink a lot of beer, you may not feel it so much! (until the next day, when they amputate your whatevers....)

Grew up in Maine, could not wait to leave it...just visiting now, and have no heat in my old rustbucket truck...but once I'm on the highway, it's ok...

I don't even care for Connecticut's weather most of the time. Lived in So. Cal. and so I don't miss the "Seasons" as they say. Fuck the "seasons" give me sunshine 24/7. I like to ski and all that, but I can fly to that, like they say..Not In My Back Yard. (NIMBY)

And if I can't afford to fly to my chosen weather, well, I can always go online and download the seasons (kinda sounds like Soylent Green!!) Seasons are made out of people!!

13. It's all relative, and relates to where you are and how well
Edited on Tue Mar-18-08 03:46 AM by Breeze54
a person acclimates to their environment and also has a lot to do with body weight and hormones and... well, you get my drift. I've never liked being cold and I grew up in the north east I'm supposed to like lobster too because I grew up here :eyes: but... I don't!!

9. Just went out to have a smoke...
and my hands are frozen solid...was even worse earlier today when the wind was blowing...where I live in CT, it's like the tropics compared to here. I am planning on eventually migrating south, with whatever little job talents I may have. (too late to find the rich guy to marry and kill oops missed that one)

12. lol... hope your hands warm up!
I've lived in the SW and in CA and in the Midwest and grew up here in the NE and
maybe my time in the SW spoiled me to all that wonderful warm (excruciatingly hot)
weather but I just really hate the cold. I wish I could live somewhere there was a
steady 78 degree temp and I'd be happy then! ;) Hey? I CAN live where I want to now!
All my kids are now grown and legal! I think I'll make plans for my escape! ;)

Not much better here. Currently it's 27 (F) and snowing. Just waiting for the freezing rain to start. Should kick in about the time I have to head out for work.

17. Twenty degrees here, but sunny.
If there were any possible way to get the FUCK out of Maine in the winter, I'd be doing it. At this rate we won't have leaves until July. *sigh*

19. Yes, me too.
Maine in the winter sucks x(

My little 5yr old thinks that because spring is in two days we will be wearing shorts and playing outside. Poor little guy. He's still wearing snow pants to school.

21. Aww, he's in for a surprise, isn't he?
I usually get frustrated around this time of year, or at Easter when magazines and traditional literature has children dressed in pastel clothing, running through the grass & searching for eggs. I can remember an Easter or two where there was grass here, though it wasn't green. Sigh. Give the wee fella a hug.

18. Okay, I'll be the contrarian...
I hate the heat! If I'm cold, I can always dress for it but I can't do anything about the heat! I always feel like I'm suffocating and walking in molasses. I guess I'm just a hardcore New England girl.

AND I LIKE IT!!!!

Sorry, just spent the last 20 years in a hot, sticky, humid hellhole. I'd rather be shivering than sweating right now. :)
