13. You would be correct.
Just knowing it was whale would ruin it. Maybe they'd trick me with a "nah, it's organic seared tofu". I might find it so tasty, that I'm on the next "research" expedition to Australia.

Call me, "Harpoon Boy"!

17. Butter
Edited on Fri Mar-14-08 09:11 PM by app_farmer_rb
My Irish grandmother really used to slather butter on the bread before putting on the PB & J. My dad loved it when he was a kid, and I guess she thought I would have the same taste.

As a kid, I loved PB&J at home, and couldn't stand it at my grandparents' place. I couldn't figure out why until I was tall enough to see my grandma making sandwiches one day. Once I asked her to refrain from buttering my sandwich, all was well.

Grandma was a great cook otherwise (and Grandpa did some good cooking too iirc - mashed potatoes, etc.). Lots of good memories of meals around their table.

21. I do that because that's how my mom and grandmother made them
I think with the "natural" kind of peanut butter you almost have too or the peanut butter will tear up the bread when you spread it on. With all of the oily sugary peanut butter these days, like Jiff, I don't think it would help.

24. Yes!
Peanut butter & honey is the shit! I still love PB & J as well, particularly with red raspberry preserves. Mmmm.

My new discovery is peanut butter and nutella on toasted bread. It's like a goddamn candy bar!

That would definitely ruin a PB&J.

Being a vegan, I think meat would ruin anything. :P
