I really consider myself a geek, though, and not a nerd - though I do certainly have some nerdish tendencies.

I was rated Tri-Lamb material. Then I got thinking..... I'm not sure that they're calculating dork scores correctly. Dorks, I think, would be the most likely to say they keep abreast to trends in fashion, etc., while being completely ignorant of what the actual trends are. They would answer the questions differently than the non-dork. The dork, for instance, may consider itself to be highly athletic based on sword fights held with fellow Society for Creative Anachronism members, without consider how they match up to the general public.

52. Oddly enough I was discussing the semantics of those terms...

...with a friend just a few days ago. We pretty much agreed that "Geek" was a very positive term (someone who knows a lot about computers, for instance), while "Nerd" was less so, but not altogether awful (one can be a "lovable nerd"), while "Dork" was a clear pejorative.

This was with a guy who once explained the difference between "eternity" and "infinity" to me in great detail, so perhaps we are both geeks in our way! :)
