This is no prank -- "Jackass" star Steve-O has been hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and has also been charged by the L.A. County District Attorney with felony possession of cocaine.

Regarding the hospitalization, we're told O was admitted to the Thalians Mental Health Center last Sunday -- the same place Owen Wilson was at.

The drug charge stems from his arrest on March 3 for allegedly vandalizing his neighbor's property, whereupon cops found him in possession of coke.

5. If true, this is simply STUNNING news...

...I mean, we're talking about Steve-O here! Who could have guessed? Here is a man to whom millions of Americans looked up to (that can't be grammatically correct, but SO FUCKING WHAT!). A hero? He is that, obviously. A saint? Maybe. Certainly a genius. And now-- to hear that he has fallen? All America mourns. And as America mourns, so does the world. This is a well-established fact. In India and Iran, even as I write this, thousands are slaughtering themselves in the streets because of what has been done to Steve-O.

This is just the beginning.
