I have good news
My dad is out of the hospital. He had a minor TIA, did not lose any function, thank goodness. Because of where the blockage in the artery was, he is not a good candidate for surgery. So he has been sent home with Plavix, and has been taken off his blood pressure medication (his blood pressure was kind of low in the hospital).

Thanks everyone for your vibes, prayers, and well wishes.

I anticipate getting into a political argument with him in 3 - 2 - 1.... (he is a freeper)

2. Oh, GOOD, my dear KW!
I am really happy to hear this!

And once you get into a political argument...he'll be back on his BP meds, lol! (You know I'm kidding, right?)

So very glad he's OK!

7. LOL
I actually try not to "go there" with my dad. But sometimes I have to try to dash some of his misinformation.

6. Glad to hear that
TIA's are scary but usually aren't too serious. In fact they are like an early warning system of a stroke. I have to watch for them myself. I think the Plavix will be very helpful. (take this from someone with a blood disorder that leads to clots and strokes)

8. I was really glad he did not try to "gut it out" yesterday
He called 911 right away (I'm shocked that he did, because he comes from the "I don't need no stinkin' doctor" mindset).

I hope the med works and surgery is never needed.

As much as we disagree on a lot of things, he is my Daddy.
