I had some family friends who were very wealthy. Very Wealthy.

At a dinner one evening, the father or our friend went off an a rant, calling Howard a "traitor" to his class -- that being the wealthy elitists.

I always thought that Howard would have been really proud to hear that. He was a champion for the rest of us.

In a world full of hacks and career politicians, Sen. Metzenbaum was a man to be honored. I hope that the Ohio Democratic Party does something appropriate in his memory.
