1. Hearing damage from a palm strike to a desk?
:wtf:

I think this suit is bogus, but if I happened to fall asleep and a teacher were to use an air horn to wake me up, I may have filed a formal complaint to the certain school district.

2. One teacher used to slam the desk with this yard stick...
Edited on Thu Mar-13-08 10:58 AM by texas1928
right in front of the person's, who was sleeping, nose. She never got sued. One of my history teachers loved it when someone fell asleep. He would pick up a stack of film cannisters, the reel to reel film cannisters and drop them next to the persons desk. If you were not paying attention, it would give everyone in the room a heart attack.

3. Beaned with chalk
I had a geology professor in college who would bean sleeping students with a piece of chalk. He was a damn good shot--hardly ever got the wrong person. The only risk you ran of being near the sleeper was if he chose to use a dusty eraser instead--he'd still hit the sleeper, but the fallout was widespread. POOF! That dude was kickass.

6. I got beaned with an eraser
during A&P while I was in massage school. The teacher thought I was asleep, which happened quite regularly during the lecture classes in the night session.

When I protested and said I heard every word she had said, and then repeated her last couple of sentences back to her, I did get an apology and never got beaned again.

It almost gave me a free ticket to sleep from then on during that class, which I tried really hard not to do.

Her first name was Wilda.

I can still hear her hollering...

"Do any of y'all see any 'pillers' (pillows) in this here classroom? Any blankets? Mattresses? Huh?!?1111"

*WHACK*

Good Moooorning.

17. I had one who used a paddle to do that
and believe me even if you were paying attention it scared the * out of you. I think the entire school could hear it. He did it if someone nodded off, wasn't paying attention, was talking, or was staring off into space. He stopped the day he had study hall and smacked that thing on a glass covered wood desk. *shatter*

4. Ah, Danbury - where every child is top of the class, too preciously perfect to discipline,
utterly incapable of doing wrong, and deserving of the entire world handed to him/her on a plate.

7. Sounds like a sibling, who was raised differently.
She turned into a self-entitled sociopath.

13. Um...in my experience as a nutmegger Danbury is a slum.
No offense to any Danburians, you're still classier than Bridgeport. Still...we'd give you to NY state; they don't want you either.

11. French teacher in high school

He would have the student in front of the sleeper leave their desk. Then he would pick up the desk directly in front of the sleeper, lift it as high as he could in the air, and drop it.

That class taught me how to sleep with my eyes open.

12. had a science teacher in Jr. High
(that's "middle school" to you whippersnappers) who would drip water into a sleeping student's ear. That always did the trick. Though personally, I'd have used pure cinnamon oil.

14. I let 'em sleep.
Screw 'em. Have had a couple that sleep through the bells into the next class. The next class thinks it is hilarious. Then they have an unexcused absence to the next class.

19. Now this is a REAL frivolous lawsuit
Not the suits that punish Big Business for their crimes against the American people.
