Poll question: OK Loungers, when is it over the line?
When do you have to resign the governorship? When do you need to consult with the attorney? When do you need to go get the really BIG ring from Zales? When is it cheating?????

It's in the Old Testament.

9. Dr. temeah...
you put a greased naked woman on all fours with a dog collar around her neck and a leash and a man’s arm extended out up to here holding onto the leash and pushing a black glove in her face to sniff it. You don’t find that offensive? You don’t find that sexist?

Of course not, who would? It's a silly question.

2. I voted for the second mortgage option.
Because in politics, it's not about the morals. It's really about the money.

Bummer.... throw that scurrilous tramp out!

Hey, I don't care if they're cheating with the dog...
if they break the trust, they aren't worth dog shit.

8. I think every relationship has a different tipping point.
When is it cheating? Every relationship has to have that determined within the boundaries set by those involved. One person might think that their s/o going to a strip club is unacceptable and another person might send their s/o there for a little mental foreplay. One person might think that having online friends of the opposite sex is dangerous and another might not care. I think there can't be a Universal Relationship Cheating Standard.

As a cheated-upon spouse, I can say that the line I thought I'd drawn mentally was not, in fact, that line when it was crossed. For many reasons that are too numerous and complex to mention here, I chose not to end things. I got no big ring from Zales. OR Jared. Or Kay, for that matter. And still, I stayed.

fwiw, my first thought when I heard about Spitzer was "aw, why does he have to resign??" and then I realized that prostitution is illegal so he'd actually committed a crime, right? Technically, anyway. I do have to wonder, though, if he'd have been forced out if it'd been an *unpaid* affair instead, whether he'd have faced the same consequence.

12. Not to mention he was the highest law enforcer and laundering money!

He has a definite sexual problem or addiction, I think.
Many are saying this is way out of character for him.
Even his closet friends. I think he wanted to be caught, myself.

13. Would he have been forced out if it'd been an *unpaid* affair instead
That's a really good question.

While I don't necessarily agree with this, this seems to be the CW on why Spitzer had to resign and David Vitter did not (aside from their party affiliations)

Vitter: When Vitter heard that the DC Madam list was going to be published, he went t the Rebublican leadership, confessed his sins, and sought advice. Also, he was never charged with any crime (as far as I know)

Spitzer: He was cought on tape during an FBI sting (hence, no opportunity to come clean first). He was charged with a crime.
