Not hard to understand why Arabs hate us after watching that film. All it did was portray them as Islamic bumbling idiot-villains.

4. It is quite a good movie ....

the movie is about a young boy growing up with two men who have lived through the early part of the century. The "arab scenes" are simply swashbuckling as in an old movie.

7. I loved the movie

13. It's intentionally cartoonish

you might just as well say it portrays all stepfathers as evil, child-abusing deadbeats. All the scenes with the cartoony Arabs in the movie are fantasies running through the kid's head...kids tend to see the world in black and white. Remember, the sheik's son at the end of the movie is a sympathetic character.

I liked it, I thought it was quite sweet and the acting was fine. I particularly liked the way they discouraged salesmen. :D
