1. I remember an old TV commercial
back in the 80's I think run by channel 10 calling them HODGIES as a promo. A hodgie, a beer and a bitch slapping. What could be better.

2. Hodgie? Interesting...when I was in Florida ( hell-hole ) everyone called
them "subs" I found out that there was quite a difference there...here it is

A "sub" can have just about everything you can imagine on it without your specifications...that is olives, hot peppers, dijon mustard, capers ( yeah, capers ) and raw mushrooms. Somehow, everything manages to stay inside the sandwich, but that can be attributed to the fact that the rolls just plain SUCK ASS down there...

Now, a hoagie should have everything you order on it to your specifications, and everything should be falling OUT of it while you're eating the thing...oh, and they are so-much-better

Beer? Well...who can argue with that one? :toast:

7. Im a commonsewer of most things edible
Throughly enjoyed Hoagies when I lived in Phillie and now I live near New Orleans and the Po-Boy is the local delicacy. Used to go to a place called "Mothers" (I think thats the name) on Baltimore Pike and get a Pizza they made but you took it home and cooked it. Lordy that was some good stuff. And my neighbor on occasion took me to his "Tappy."

13. Now if only I can find out where "undeclared" USA is...I can sample some of
that goodness! But should I guess that it's somewhere out near L.A? What is chili verde? Sounds good

18. It is in Los Angeles
"Walk into almost any taqueria in this country and you will find chile verde on the menu. The chile will likely be made with chunks of pork shoulder, slow cooked in a green chile sauce of jalapeno chiles, garlic, and tomatillos."
quote from a cooking site

Very few places make it well.
