You see the strangest things in a snowstorm...

So I'm standing in the doorway to our porch, in the middle of this all day all night snowstorm, and I look across the street. We live on a hill. Coming up the sidewalk is a man on the sidewalk pushing a HUGH snowball! The thing was at least waist high! :o

It's taking him a long time, he's struggling. Sniffa wants to go help :rofl:

My question is...is it for a really big snowman? :wtf:

3. Rolling his own home....

When I was a kid growing up in KC I was obsessed with rolling snowballs big enough to carve into igloos.Other kids went sledding, I was pushing, pushing, rolling.

I'm also modest. :D

So get this. I go down there with said props, and by the time I get there, the snowman maker was done (just a huge fat body, and a somewhat tiny head) and was posing for pictures using her cell phone. She had made a face - eyes, nose, mouth - and arms out of small branches.

So I show up and tell her we've been watching her for like 20 minutes or so and I came down to give her props (and also help her finish it if she wasn't done rolling balls). She thanked me, and I whipped out the camera to take a picture of the finished product, and asked her if she wanted to pose for one, which she did.

I was going to ask her if she wanted copies but she beat to the punch, and asked me for some way to get the pix. She ravaged her bag and pockets for a pen but couldn't find one (and I had just changed out of home clothes to come down, and didn't bring a pen). I suggested that maybe the easiest way by memory, would be to go to Democratic Underground for this thread. Before I could even finish that, she whipped out her phone and said, "Sorry, I'm an international student, I need you to spell it for me."
Since she was going to be recording it, I gave her my email, and will send her the pics, and the link to this thread.

After this, I turned and walked back to my building. She was walking behind me... the whole way.. and then we both entered the same place. I think we were both laughing for a a few minutes that, "OMG, we both live in the same building."

We then got on the elevator, and she pushed her floor, and asked me which floor? And I replied, "Uh, that one."

My god, she lives at the other end of my hall and I had no idea until just then.

I'm glad I took photos though; I just came back from smoking a cigarette and I noticed that the snowman is gone. :(

From up her I can't see it knocked over, and it was way too large to be obliterated into nothing by someone walking by in the last 15 minutes. The T workers are out with snowblowers, but they're not going down that far down the hill to where the snowman was. Was it an act of God? Did we both just imagine that? :scared:
