Check the middle one, so it looks like this:
And then post your post as normal, and then you don't have to worry about emoticons showing up when they shouldn't. Such as when you reference GD:P.
The only thing is that it will disable ALL emoticons, so if you want them to show up, then you have to keep that box unchecked.
This is especially useful if you are making a long posts with a lot of uses of colons, parentheses, etc. so you don't have smiley faces show up in the middle of sentences, where they don't makes sense.
